Tannlin Announce Sponsorship of Formula Student Motorsport Teams 2015
Formula Student is Europe’s most established educational motorsport competition, run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. The competition aims to inspire and develop enterprising and innovative young engineers from across the globe who are challenged to design and build a single-seat racing car to compete in static and dynamic events including the famous Silverstone Circuit. This is an intense, ten month long project, teaching students teamwork, business skills and technical ability.
This year we are delighted to announce our continued sponsorship of University of Strathclyde Motorsport Team as well as welcoming on board the University of Glasgow Racing Team. Through this duel sponsorship of both Glasgow teams, we at Tannlin are committed to encouraging young people to not only take up a career in engineering but to provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate and improve their capabilities to deliver a complex and integrated product in the demanding environment of a motorsport competition. Both teams have demonstrated the ability to work together developing creative solutions, building teamwork and communication skills as well as learning how to deliver projects to budget and deadlines.
Since its inception in 1998, the FSUK event has become Europe’s most established educational motorsport competition, and typically hosts around 120 teams from universities all over the world. With endorsement and involvement from a number of senior figures in the UK’s motorsport industry such as Ross Brawn, David Coulthard and Bob Bell, FSUK has become a proving ground for young engineers.
